Flex Dollars

The amount of flex dollars varies depending on the meal plan selected. Each meal plan includes a specified amount of flex dollars which may be spent at the retail dining venues on campus:

  • Bone Student Center (Burger King, Einstein Bros.® Bagels, McAlister’s Deli, & Pizza Hut Express );
  • Jamba Juice in the Student Fitness Center;
  • Subway shops located on campus (Wilkins Hall, Watterson Towers, Manchester Hall);
  • coffee and sandwich shops in Centennial Hall (Airport Lounge) and the State Farm Hall of Business (Business Bistro);
  • and vending machines in the residence halls.

Flex dollars remaining at the end of the fall semester will roll over into the spring semester providing a meal plan is retained for the spring semester*. All flex dollars expire at the end of the spring semester and are non-refundable.

*Students living in traditional residence halls are required to have a meal plan.

Selecting Your 2013-2014 Meal Plan

New students living on campus must complete their Meal Plan Contract through Welcome2ISU.IllinoisState.edu. The selection process for the 2013-2014 academic year will become available on February 19.

Returning students living in the traditional residence halls will complete their Meal Plan Contract during the Housing Contract Renewal process.

All students living in the traditional residence halls are required to purchase a meal plan. Meal plans are optional for students living in Cardinal Court or off campus.

Fall 2013 Meal Plans can be changed via the online Meal Plan Change Form through August 12. The form will be available at Dining.IllinoisState.edu starting February 19. After August 12, changes can be requested through August 31 by calling Campus Dining's administrative office at (309) 438-8351. Spring 2014 Meal Plans can be changed via the online Meal Plan Change Form, available in Oct. 2013, through Jan. 8, 2014.

Unlimited Access Meal Plans

Unlimited Access Meal Plans offer the greatest variety and flexibility. If you choose one of these plans, you have no limit to the number of times you may eat in the residential dining centers. This plan allows you to eat as much as you desire and as often as you wish in the dining centers in addition to a specific amount of flex dollars. There are no refunds for unused meals.

7-Day Unlimited      

Unlimited access to any residential dining center, 7 days a week.
Includes $265 in flex dollars*.

     
5-Day Unlimited       Unlimited access to any residential dining center, Monday through Friday only

Traditional Access Meal Plans

Traditional Access Meal Plans include a specific number of meals per week in addition to a specific amount of flex dollars. Meals in these plans expire on Sunday evening. Since the meals are “budgeted” over the course of the semester, you can’t use too many and run out before the end of the semester. There are no refunds for unused meals.

Block Meal Plan

Block Meal Plans include a specific number of meals per semester and a specific amount of flex dollars. Any meals remaining at the end of each semester will expire. You can enjoy the flexibility of having a set amount of meals per semester but not worry about using all of these meals in any given week. There are no refunds for unused meals.

Block of 225 Meals      

Access to any 225 meals throughout the entire semester. Meals expire at the end of each semester.
Iincludes $339 in flex dollars*.
